When Life Gives You Lemons...(Updated!)

Happy 82nd Birthday to PapaBob! In celebration of my Grandfather's birthday, we took another ride up the Swamp Rabbit Trail to The Cafe @ Williams' Hardware for lunch, where Mema, PapaBob, and Paul and Olympia met us. It was supposed to be a beautiful, warm, spring-like day. While it was beautiful, springlike would be a stretch. I was so cold on the way up to Travelers Rest that my muscles felt like large blocks of ice. Chris, lugging Max in his chariot, didn't seem to have the same problem, as he stayed in the lead for the entire trip.

The lunch break in Traveler's Rest was welcome - and I enjoyed another black bean burger. Chris enjoyed a slightly modified Reuben. And Max...he enjoyed a lemon. Well, enjoyed might not be exactly the word....

Here, little boy, taste this:

Maybe if I close my eyes, it won't taste as bad as I think it's going to...

Ok, this isn't SO bad.

Hmm, a tad bitter.

Verdict: undecided.

Maybe I'll just have a milk chaser.

And perhaps if I hide under this cloth, Dad won't try to make me taste anything else...

****special note: Mimi and PopPop planned and initiated this ride. PopPop's feelings were hurt that they weren't listed as being in attendance...I thought it was implicit, but apparently it was not**** :)
