B-A-N-A-N-A-S -or- "Super Bowl? What Super Bowl?"

In honor of SuperBowl Sunday, Max donned his Nike Football outfit. Chris requested that I dress him in something yellow and black for the Steelers, but I chose to dress him in more team-neutral gear; that way, Max could claim to support either team, the Packers or the Steelers, based on who won. So, today we will say that Max was rooting for the Packers.

It should be pointed out that Max did NOT wear his football gear to church. The outfit change was necessary for his first biking trip! What an exciting prospect. Note the excitement on his face:

Oh, there, that's better - look alive, Son :)

After a few last-minute Safety Tips from Mimi (such as - always wear a helmet), we left Linky Stone Park and were on our way up the Swamp Rabbit Trail toward Travelers Rest.

10 miles and about an hour later, we arrived at The Cafe at Williams Hardware. I was definitely in need of a break and some lunch. I think all of us were. Except for this guy - the whole ride was his break.

I must say that I enjoyed my black bean vegetarian burger. I'm going to have to find a recipe and try that at home. Feeling fueled up, we soon were on our way back to Greenville. The trip to Travelers Rest was uphill so we (particularly Chris, who was hauling the trailer aka Max's chariot)were looking forward to a downhill return trip. Sadly, the return trip was also, inexplicably, uphill. Maybe it was the lunch sitting in our stomachs or the fact that we hadn't ridden bikes in a while...or maybe it was some trick of physics. Regardless, the trip back was, well, arduous to say the least. Particularly for poor Chris with that load to haul.

We were happy to finally make it back to our car. Here are our "Thank GOODNESS we can now go home and sit on the couch and pretend to watch the Super Bowl" pictures.

All in all, a fun trip on a nice day. We won't, however, talk about what Mimi planned on doing in the gravel pit.

Oh yeah, and Max had bananas today for the first time. He was, let's just say, not really bananas about them. Actually, he didn't really care. I think for now, he's still a milk man.

Sure, I'll try some bananas!

Eh, I've had better.

And, oh yeah, the Packers won the Super Bowl. However, I was asleep LONG before that happened.
