A Day in the Life.

Pop Quiz. One question.
Which of the following happened to me today?
A)In a quick moment sans-diaper, Max managed to pee all over our bed.
B)Max brought two large handfuls of dirt from Chris's herb garden into the kitchen and hurled it all over the floor.
C) While making chocolate-chip banana bread, I managed to drop an open 72 ounce bag of chocolate chips on the floor and 90% of them managed to spread out all over the kitchen. Bailey tried to consume as many as she could before I cleaned them up. Chocolate it poison for dogs.
D)None of the above; things like this never happen to Robin.
E) All of the above. Things like this always happen to Robin.

I'm too tired to type the answer. Leave your guesses below. Winner gets a bag of chocolate chips.

Happy Easter! (Frohe Ostern!)

Happy Easter everyone! What a beautiful day to celebrate Jesus and his rebirth. Maximilian is going to be guest-blogging today and telling you all about his day!

7 AM: Rise and shine everyone! I'm awake, so you should be too! When I came downstairs I found that Daddy had made this yummy bunny for me and Mom and Dad apparently had some fun dying eggs after I went to bed last night. I would have LOVED to have helped!

8:45 AM: Time for church! I made my appearance and said my hellos and even enjoyed a little bit of (slightly off-key) music before I got banished to nursery.

10:00 AM: Home from church and Mommy forced me and Daddy (and Bailey, for that matter) to submit to some family photo-taking. It took quite a few tries with the self-timer and the Kia-as-tripod. I'm thinking we look pretty good though; I even managed a smile for the photo. (But really I was just laughing at Mommy running back and forth from the camera. I'm sure the neighbors were laughing at her too).

10:30 AM: I was informed that the Easter Bunny had brought something for me and left it in the backyard. To be honest, I was starting to wonder if all I was going to get was a bunny cake. I was pretty happy with my gift. I mean, after all, it combines two of my favorite activities: getting dirty and getting wet!

I think I spotted the Easter Bunny, too...she looked strangely like Mommy. But crazier.

She did let me borrow her ears, though:

(Mommy and Daddy also got me my very own zaza, what everyone else calls a train, which I have been thoroughly enjoying playing with. Of course, from time to time I also become irate when the track comes unattached or when one of the train cars derails, at which point I hurl the entire train as hard as I can into the wall, but for the most part I love it.)

11:00 AM: Mommy forced Daddy to take some pictures of me and her. If Mommy had gotten with the program, I think this would have been a nice picture:

Of course Mommy wasn't happy with it. She said it looked like it should be part of a "how not to take a photo" tutorial, what with the grill cover and trash can in the background. Otherwise, of course, it's perfect.

11:15 AM: After doing some Easter baby yoga to rebalance my chi after that stressful photo session, I was ready to try again to make Mommy happy.

Mommy was finally satisfied with a photo and we were able to move on. Do you notice anything familiar about this shot, though?

Why, yes, Mommy DID wear this exact same dress last Easter! But last Easter I wasn't the same size as Mommy like I appear to be now!

12:00 PM: We made our way over to Mimi and PopPop's house. As soon as we got there, I convinced Pop Pop to show me his Zaza. Man, I love that thing. I'm going to have one like this when I grow up.

12:30 PM: We sat down to eat the yummy meal that Mimi had prepared. There was a lot of discussion about how there might not be enough meat, but I think there was even some left over. (Must have been that prayer PopPop said asking for enough meat to go around...just like the loaves and the fishes).Mommy says that Mimi always cooks for an army. I enjoyed the meal, particularly the yeast roll and the M&Ms that were conveniently located in the middle of the dinner table. I was also happy to entertain everyone while they ate by playing some lovely Easter tunes on Mimi's piano.

1:15 PM: Uncle Paul hid some eggs for me in the backyard and I got to do a solo egg hunt. That really takes the pressure off, let me tell you! I think I did pretty good, though. I found all my eggs with very little assistance from anyone.

1:45 PM: I cooled off (and celebrated the fact that CLEARLY Mommy and Daddy had forgotten about my nap) in Mimi's fountain after my strenuous egg hunt. I think everyone really appreciated my efforts at cooling everyone down by spraying the fountain all over the deck. I'm still unsure as to why nobody would let me drink out of the water fountain, though. Bailey does it!

2:30 PM: Uncle Paul hid the eggs for me again. I think he realized that he needed to step up his game since I found them all so quickly the first time. These were a tad bit harder to find, but I loved the challenge.

3:15 PM After much running about, refereeing of corn-hole matches, and providing general entertainment for the adults with my witty banter, I was really starting to get tired. I guess my feet might have gotten tangled up with each other or something...and I ended up taking a swan dive directly into Mimi's water fountain. My face bounced off of the stone, I fell down the step on the deck and landed on my head. Not my most graceful move, but I think I shook it off fairly well. At least that's my story and I'm sticking to it. But what really happened is that I really didn't want to be outdone by my cousins Nathanael and Benny, who both acquired fine knots on their heads this weekend. Turns out I missed my forehead by a bit, but I definitely got myself one nice bump!

4:30 PM: Mommy and Daddy finally got the memo that I needed to go home. I love not taking a nap, but it seems like on those days when I skip my nap, I start having incredibly bad luck as the day goes on. It's weird how that happens. I said my goodbyes (well, actually, I think I just stormed off now that I think about it) and loaded up in the car.

5:00 PM: I ended the day just the way every man should: on my bike with a cold drink. (Can you see my wound in this shot? it's on my cheek! Nice, right?) Mommy said I had to inform everyone that there's only cold water in the Bojangle's cup. Something about DSS...?

6:15 PM: Drifting off to dreamland. I put up a fight when Mommy and Daddy told me I couldn't play with my zaza anymore and had to go to bed, but really I was relieved. That was a long day! But I had fun. Happy Easter to everyone!
