Happy Birthday Max! For your 2 month birthday you'll get....

Some vaccinations!! Poor Max, 2 months old and time for his first round of vaccines (minus the Hep B he got in the hospital). We trekked to the pediatrician's office and Max was subjected to 3 shots, 2 in one leg and one in the other (plus an oral vaccine, which he loved). He didn't cry as long as I thought he would...and I didn't cry as long as I thought I would either.

Besides the vaccines, he got a 2 month check-up. Our boy is doing great. He weighs 11 lbs 9.6 oz (56th percentile)and he's 23 3/4" long (84th percentile). The length is particularly exciting to me, since I am only 2 inches too tall for the designation of "little person." He apparently has a tiny gourd, though - 38.5 cm, which is the 20th percentile.

So, this past weekend we did some much-needed yard work (I say we, but I'm sure Chris will point out that it was mostly him - although I did help in between feeding and caring for Max). We had a load of mulch delivered, which we spread around the yard and we did various other yard-maintenance projects like trimming back the roses and other bushes, etc. Meanwhile, Chris also smoked a Boston Butt. We had a delicious dinner of home-smoked barbecue...my German husband is turning into quite the southern chef! Keep an eye out for his debut on "BBQ Pitmasters".

After a hard days' work, Max chilled out and watched some TV. All in all a great day.
