Breakfast with Santa at the Morning Mist Cabana; what could be better? And free Chick-Fil-A biscuits and Dunkin Donuts Hot Chocolate (SOOOOO good) just "sweetened" the deal. Max probably could have done without the reading of "Polar Express", but it seemed rude to just get our picture of Santa, grab our grub, and go! (of course, if we had left then, I wouldn't have dropped Julie's expensive new camera on the concrete floor, but whatever).
Max did great with Santa - I love his Sylvester Stallone face.
It will be interesting to see how Max deals with Santa next year. Will he be the kid who runs gleefully towards him yelling "SANTA!!!" or will he be the kid who sits rigidly on Santa's lap just waiting for the first opportunity to bolt (Sam) ? I was always terrified of Santa growing up. In fact, on Christmas Eve "Santa" would always sneak into our bedrooms after we were sound asleep and leave our treat-filled stockings at the foot of our beds and I would go to sleep with great unease on Christmas Eve, dreading having Santa sneak into my room in the night. To this day, I don't particularly like Santas...or anyone wearing anything that disguises their face for that matter - not a big fan of clowns either. Anyway, something to look forward to for next year!
In other Christmas season news, we got our new stockings this week - so fun! We opted NOT to get Bailey a personalized stocking, but never fear, she still has the biggest stocking of the family! Just need to get her a stocking holder...when they're on clearance after Christmas :)
In domestic news, check out this downhome meal we had this week.
That's right -- meatloaf!! This is a result of Chris telling me "Just cook with what we have in the house." and a freezer full of ground beef. I don't think it was his favorite, but he (fairly) willingly ate it...and I enjoyed it for lunches 3 days this week. Thanks to Chris's buddy (and supplier) Gary, no cooking was necessary Wednesday night, because he took us out to Red Robin I'd give it 2 thumbs up, with a pinky down for obnoxious LOUD non-stop "Happy Birthday" renditions. But the burgers were really good - Fuddrucker's good, in fact. Thursday night Chris had a Cobra meeting...again, no cooking necessary. But TONIGHT....Chris is going to make Chicken Pot Pie...I can hardly wait!!! It's a new winter favorite around the Ludwig house!
Ok, time to go change a diaper ... on my little 16 week old!!!
and then to enjoy some family time.
