Ever since Max started really talking up a storm, he's had some interesting takes on some of his favorite items. I've been meaning to record these forever, and since now he is starting to correct himself and call things by their true names, I think I better write these down before I forget how cute they were!
Here are some of my favorites:
Hess - outside
Hiss - elephant, or airplane....yeah, your guess is as good as mine
Dee - bird (as of the past couple of days, he has started saying bird much more clearly)
Ahoo - water
Gilk - milk
Gook - book (sounds very similar to gilk and has made for some confusing moments)
NaNa - I want
Hop Hop - Pop Pop
ZaZa - Train (I have no idea how he came up with this, and he does in fact say train now, but he continues to also say Zaza)
Here he is demonstrating both ZaZa and HopHop
Another thing Max has done since the time he was pretty small is this strange hand gesture where he points all his fingers down and bounces them upside down. We have never been able to figure out what he meant by it, but pretty soon he figured out that it made us laugh and he started doing it whenever he wanted to see us giggle. We would always ask him "Max, what does that mean?" and eventually he added a questioning hand gesture to the end of it. Pop Pop, in particular, finds this humerous and always tries to get Max to do it. Now when Max does the hand gesture he also always says "PopPop" along with it. We are just hoping that if we can keep him doing it for long enough, eventually he'll find the words to explain to us what it means.
