Sunday Funday.

Hey Mom, you're clearly NOT going to use this to exercise on...so I might as well play with it.
Oh my gosh. Fall is here! And so now that it no longer feels like playing on the surface of the sun when you're outside...we will actually spend time outside. Until it starts to feel like playing on the surface of an iceburg.

So, what to do outside...well, I got this great idea:

This is probably not a great idea at all.

I have such fond memories of Sam fingerpainting when he was little; he was such an artist. Nevermind that I don't have an artistic bone in my body that Max could have inherited...and I've certainly never seen Chris with a sketchpad or an easel. But might as well give it a shot.

It started off great; no hesitation, kind of like the way he dove into his birthday cake.  I even thought he might really be getting ino this whole art-painting thing; I was already having a little day dream about buying him a little baby beret.

But then he decided to start eating the paint. And he discovered that, really, it was more fun to play with the paint plates than to actually paint. And then we just had a big ole mess.

But you know, on second thought, this is the most beautiful painting I think I've ever seen. I might just buy him that beret after all.

What's that you say Max? You think this mess calls for a dip in the ultimate redneck pool? I agree!!! The water might be a tad chilly...but you won't mind! I'll let you play with the hose for distraction.

And then we had "Mess: Round 2"

And so then he had to clean himself up again, so there's going to be another long string of water-to-the-face pictures. Deal with it. They're hilarious and I couldn't stop. And neither could he, apparently.

(I think I'm going to see if this Gilmour company wants to use any of these for advertising purposes. )

And also...who knew you could have so much fun with just a bucket...I think the actual baby pool just got a demotion.
