The Children's Museum Isn't Just for Kids!
Ok, so I've wanted to visit The Children's Museum of the Upstatesince they opened. That was before I even had a kid, and I thought it would be a little bit weird to just go there without a kid in tow. So ever since Max was born I've been waiting for the day when I felt he was old enough to get something/anything out of a trip there. So, since he had so much fun at the mall playground recently, I figured a trip to the children's museum was totally reasonable.
So, did Max enjoy the Children's Museum? I think the look on his face in this picture says it all:
This look also says "I am my Daddy's son and I LOVE cars."
And this look below says "Hey baby, you like my car? Wanna go for a ride?" (The cutie with the pigtails is Clara, my friend Kris's oldest).
The next stop on our tour was "Grandma Betty's Farm"
and my little farmer couldn't have been happier there. He got to meet a pig and a scarecrow:
He planted some flowers:
Pumped some water (under the watchful eye of Jed, Grandma Betty's light-saber-weilding farm manager):
(no, Max was not forced to work on the farm as a requirement of his parole...that was his ticket around his ankle)
But when I saw the Toddler Lily PondI knew we had found Max's favorite spot. I imagine that when the elevator doors opened and Max saw all that water, he thought he heard angels singing. (but really what he heard was what sounded like thousands of youngsters shrieking) We could have spent HOURS here if it was up to Max. He LOVED it.
I think Max wasn't really feeling his blue water apron. (which served ABSOLUTELY no purpose) Baby Natalie wasn't feeling the museum at all, apparently.
By the time we left the lily pond area, Max was sans pants. You know it's a good time if you lose your pants. We've discussed this before.
We spent about 4 hours at the museum and hardly even scrached the surface. I anticipate many more visits to the museum in the future (and Chris can't wait to go too). I'm not sure who had more fun, me or Max.
But based on how Max looked when we got home, I'd say it was a pretty fun day.
